About Us
The American Organ Academy is a non-profit educational institution in Northeast Ohio dedicated to practical organ education in the disciplines of playing and organ technology.
Our Executive Director and Director of Education, Dr. John Schwandt, is a well-known performer, church musician, as well as an organ technician who created and led a similar program at a state University for over 20 years. Our hope is that the American Organ Academy can make education in this discipline accessible for those who wish to have careers in the pipe organ industry. In partnership with A.R. Schopp's Sons, Kegg Pipe Organbuilders,
and Schantz Organ Company, we have the resources to teach students the courses
and skills they desire to become successful in their chosen field.
