During my student years, I recall being repeatedly encouraged by teachers to do all I could to “think outside the box” and to avoid doing the same things the same way over the course of one’s career. Another helpful axiom for life is “change is inevitable, growth is optional.” Our ever-changing world requires bold initiatives to address the challenges before us. The formation of the American Organ Academy is a bold step towards new possibilities in the realm of education and training for organ technicians, builders, and players.
We envision the AOA to not only facilitate practical training and comprehensive education, but also to become the birthplace of new ideas and innovations for time-honored art and craft.
